3 Costly Mistakes Realtors Make On Social Media
I sat down with Ashley Bynum and Adam Clarke who assist independent sales associates affiliated with Coldwell Banker Gundaker with their online presence. Adam and Ashley meet with each new Realtor who would like assistance developing a marketing focus and strategy using various tools including an e-marketing checklist. When asked about common social media pitfalls realtors make on social media. This is what they had to say:
- Too Opinionated. If you are using social media platforms for your business, it is best to remain silent on political stance on any subject.
- Too Social. Posting lots of pictures of your vacation, weddings and social events with little aim to your business. It is best not to share too much personal information. There must be a strategy when you post, from timing to content. The key is to position yourself as a real estate expert of your niche.
- Inactive Profiles. Some agents have pages with no photos or the last post is from 2014. That screams nobody’s home. Your social media pages speak for you 24 hours a day. Make sure it’s sending the right message.
Their advice to a new agent, “Before you post, keep in mind Facebook is like the Yellow Pages for your business.”
